Texture and Fair Isle combine to give this cosy scarf set. Lovely heathery shades of this gorgeous yarn have been chosen to complement the main section for the big pockets for your hands to snuggle up in on those frosty days.
The scarf is in garter, moss and single rib which combine to make the whole thing double sided – so much so, that it is a good idea to mark which is the right side when knitting it otherwise it can be very hard to tell which is which, making row counts a bit tricky. The Fair Isle pockets can be knitted as steeks or each one could be worked flat and the headband is knitted in the round having picked up stitches from the cable edge. The second cable edge is sewn on.
Yarn is available direct from the mills in the historic little town of New Lanark www.newlanarkshop.co.uk.
This is a 2 part “knitalong” pattern published in Subsciber’s copy of Issues 41 and 42.
