Avion
Feather and fan columns divided by stockinet stitch sections create a simple but fun cowl and fingerless mitt set.
Two different cowls lengths are provided, in case you want a neck length cowl (25” long) or infinity length cowl (50” long).
Neck Length Cowl Approximate Measurements:
7” wide x 25” circumference
Infinity Length Cowl Approximate Measurements:
7” wide x 50” circumference
Fingerless Mitts Approximate Measurements:
To fit an average ladies size hand-
6 ½” circumference (without stretching) around palm x 7 ½” long.
Materials
For Neck Length Cowl:
160—yards of a dk weight yarn, I used Feederbrook Farms Wishes to Wings (310 yards each/119G skein. 50% Alpaca, 35% Merino, 15% Silk)
- US size 7 (4.5mm)- 24” circular needle
- 4 stitch markers (m)
For Infinity Length Cowl:
320—yards of a dk weight yarn, I used Cape May Fiber Co DK Merino (225 yards each/100G ball. 100% Superwash Merino) in Color Bay Scallop
- US size 7 (4.5mm)- 24”or 32” circular needle
- 8 stitch markers (m)
For Fingerless Mitts:
100—yards of a dk weight yarn, I used Feederbrook Farms Wishes to Wings (310 yards each/119G skein. 50% Alpaca, 35% Merino, 15% Silk)
- set of 4- US size 7 (4.5mm) DPNs
- 3 stitch markers (m)
Gauge
19 sts, 32 rows =4” in st st on US size 7 (4.5mm) needles.
36 sts= 6 ½” in feather and fan pattern on US Size 7 (4.5mm) needles.
