Avonleigh Scarf/Hood
A vine wanders back and forth across this scarf, accented by leaves and berries. The scarf is knit in two pieces and grafted together. A hood is then added to create a warm, dramatic accessory you’ll love. (And no funny point at the back of your head!)
Intermediate skills are required including a little lacework, cabling, bobbles, grafting and seaming. (Bobbles aren’t so bad if you learn to knit them backwards, rather than turning your work all the time. This video by the Knit Witch is great: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT-u3MBGFtI
Although any DK weight yarn will work, I highly recommend the “Alpaca with a Twist: Baby Alpaca” I used in the sample. Soft, warm, gorgeous colors and excellent stitch definition.
