The Avro Lancaster is the most famous and successful RAF heavy bomber of World War II. It was made even more famous by the 1955 film, The Dam Busters, which tells the story of Operation Chastise, the 1943 attack on German dams. This knitted version would make a superb addition to any collection of RAF or war memorabilia, or for Armed Forces or Remembrance Day displays. The finished bomber measures approximately 36cm/14” from nose to tail and is approximately 30cm/12” from wingtip to wingtip.
