This classic design features two sweeping cables flanking a seed stitch medallion cable. These uplifting design elements, representing resilience and hope, are intended to be worn in the front of the hat. Knit in heavy Aran or light bulky weight yarn, the hat makes a beautiful and timeless gift for all ages and gender identities and is available in child, adult and adult XL sizes. Wear it as a beanie or add a pompom topper for a more playful look.

Youth 16” hat circumference, 7.75” brim to crown
Adult 19” hat circumference, 9.25” brim to crown
Adult XL 22” hat circumference, 9.5” brim to crown

Determine main needle required to obtain gauge (suggested US8-US10, 16” circular; Metric 5.0 to 6.0 mm, 40 cm circular) and choose a needle one or two sizes smaller for ribbing.

Tip: Knit at a tighter gauge (on smaller needles) if using a superwash wool or a wool blend with more drape, such as silk or alpaca.

Designed in Knit Picks Simply Wool Bulky and also tested in Berroco Ultra® Alpaca Chunky and Cascade Yarns ® Eco+
