Gauge & hook: a 7x7 square is 5 inches. I used a size H/8 (5.00 mm) hook.

Yarn: I used Loops and Threads® Impeccable™ in Putty, Fern, Soft Taupe, and Teal. You can, of course, use any colors to match the awareness ribbon for your loved one.

Finished size: about 3 feet x 4 feet (36 x 48 inches). This graph is intended to be a “lapghan,” that is, a lap afghan. It is not intended to be big enough to fit a bed.

Words on the awareness ribbon: My blanket says “Fight like a mother;” yours can say anything you want it to. Or you can leave this part off. I used one package of Joy® Baby Monogram Iron-On Embroidery letters, which I found at my local Michael’s store, and sewed on with white thread.

Graph direction: The graph is numbered from bottom left to top right corner, because I wanted to see the letters form in order. If you prefer another direction, contact me and I’ll get you another version.
