Awareness Ribbon Tribute Cloth

I developed this pattern because I wanted to make a tribute cloth for a mother whose daughter committed suicide. The awareness ribbon for suicide prevention is the one used in the pattern.

I added a heart area to mine. I have included a pattern graph for the ribbon with and without a heart in the center of the ribbon. I chose to make my cloth using the tapestry crochet technique. You can find many tutorials for that on You Tube if you are not familiar with that technique.

Once I completed the crochet section, I hand embroidered the name on it using a needle and thread. If you would like to make the cloth without any words on it, simply begin crocheting on row # 10. This will leave an even border on the top and bottom of the ribbon edges.

The ribbon can be made in any color (single or double) that you desire. The area of the chart that is in light grey is the area that would be used to add the
name/slogan to your project.

I chose to crochet a single crochet border around my piece using both colors from the ribbon. Any type of border would work well.
