This square is the sister block to the Circle of Awareness Block.

It has been designed in memory of a good friend who we lost to breast cancer.

My initial idea was for this block to be included in a mix-and-match style afghan, as a gentle memorial to a loved one.
However, the design could also be used to make items to sell for your particular cause, just change the ribbon colour to match.

Using worsted weight yarn the block is 12”, but this could be easily enlarged by adding more rounds. This block is easier than the Circle block, but is still for intermediate crocheters. It is suitable for any weight yarn, just use the appropriate hook size. And the pattern comes in both US and UK terminology formats (download the appropriate PDF).

The final picture shows the original 6” version of this block, which is also available for free.

There is no charge for this block, but it would be lovely to see your finished pieces, or hear about other ideas you may have for charity items using the block.
