Away in a Manger
If you don’t have the time or the space to display the full cast of a Nativity play, this knitted wreath of the Joseph, Mary and Jesus characters could be your ideal handmade decoration this festive season. The wreath itself is a 25cm polystyrene wreath form covered with a knitted strip, and uses a provisional cast on and Kitchener stitch grafting. The pattern also incorporates a little stranded colour-work.
Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the wreath is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).
NEEDLES
A pair each of 2.75mm and 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles (US 2 & 4).
RECOMMENDED YARN
Deramores Studio Anti-Pilling DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; One 100g/250m skein in each colour.

Tapestry needle, toy filling, a 25cm flat back polystyrene wreath form, small buttons for eyes and a 2.75mm crochet hook.
