Aynsley
When my niece, Aynsley, took up knitting, I tried to be nonchalant about the whole thing, but secretly I was ecstatic. Now that she’s fairly proficient at the simple stuff, I’ve been trying to think of patterns that push her a little out of her comfort zone towards more intricate work. These socks grew out of one of my attempts. The socks are knit toe-up in three sizes (youth/small to adult/large), using a variety of charts that all expand a fairly simple design. The design is simple, but once the heel is turned little surprises appear to add a little more interest to the final stretch. A little fun, a little hidden interest, in a simple, yet challenging, sock for you, for Aynsley.
