This headband pattern is ideal for those beginner knitters that want to try cables. The simplicity of the cables and the quantity of them throughout the hat, makes it a perfect opportunity to practice this technique.

The pattern is written is US standard terms and includes child and adult sizes. It is recommended for beginner knitters.

SUGGESTED YARN:
Bulky weight yarn (5) like Malabrigo Chunky, DHG Piuma, Patons Rumor or any other yarn that meets gauge.

YARDAGE:
Child: 19-21” head circumference, approximately 4” tall
Teen/Adult Small: 21-23” head circumference, approximately 4.25” tall
Large Adult: 23-24” head circumference, approximately 4.25” tall

RECOMMENDED NEEDLES:
5.5mm/US9 and 6.5mm/US10.5 41cm/16in circular knitting needles
Cable needle

GAUGE:
7 stitches x 10 rows in 2” 2x1 rib with 5.5mm/US9 needles
6.5 stitches x 9 rows in 2” with 6.5mm/US10.5 needles
