“Aze ami Vest” is a Half Brioche Stitch vest worked
from the top down.
It’s an oversized V-neck drop-shoulder vest for layered
look, and the tip of V and the armhole borders have
neat finishing. The word “Aze” is a Japanese word that
refers to partitions in paddy field made by stacking
soil or a ridge and brioche stitches is also called “Aze
Ami” = “Aze stitch”.
It starts with the back piece, then stitches for the front
are picked up from the back shoulder, and the back
and front are worked flat to the underarms, then
joined and worked in the round to the hem. The neck
band and the armhole borders are worked, from
picked up stitches, the round. The body can be
shortened or extended to your liking (note that the
required amount of yarn will change).

あぜ編みベストは、トップダウンで編むイギリスゴム編みのベストです。オーバーサイズ＆Vネックのデザインで、Vネックの底がきれいに見えるように、またアームホールの縁が軽やかになるように工夫しました。
後ろ身頃の肩から編みはじめ、肩下がりを作り、後ろ衿で両肩をつなげ、目を増やしながら脇まで往復編みで編みます。前身頃は、後ろ肩から左右それぞれを拾い、Vネックを作りながら往復編みで脇下まで編み、脇下で前後身頃をつなげてヘムまで輪で編みます。衿とアームホールの縁は、拾い目をして作ります。また裾丈はお好みで伸ばしたり縮めたりできます（この場合、糸量が変わりますのでご注意下さい）
