Azure Necktie
Father’s Day is almost here, and today we’re making a necktie for Dad!
This Tunisian Crochet project features the Honeycomb stitch. If you are new to Tunisian Crochet, or just need a refresher tutorial, click here to learn this stitch (opens in new tab).
Before we start, here’s a quick note about the yarn. While you can use any yarn you want, I recommend you use a #1 fingering yarn. I know, it’s quite thin, but we’re aiming to make a comfortable necktie for Dad. Remember that he will have to actually tie the necktie, and a bulky knot will be uncomfortable.
I used a yarn called Woolike, by Loops and Threads. This yarn is only available at Michaels Stores in the U.S., (you can find it on Amazon, but it’s $12+ USD for a skein you’d pay $3 for at Michaels). If you cannot find this yarn, you can use any fingering yarn of your choice.
As for the hooks, you will need both a 3 mm and a 2 mm. They do not need to be Tunisian Crochet hooks. This project is only 14 stitches across, which fits on most standard crochet hooks.
