B-loved is a cable and lace stitch baby blanket with a moss stitch border. It is knitted in one piece from bottom to top in a dk weight yarn on 4mm needles. It is a lovely size for a pram or perfect to use for cuddles

A variety of heart patterns, representing love and unity, make up this cute blanket. The theme of trinity reflects the unique bond and eternal love between parents and their baby

The blanket pattern was inspired by a very special little boy, Bear Watts; who was diagnosed with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome whilst in utero.

Skill level
this pattern is designed for intermediate or experienced knitters who know how to complete cable stitches and will be able to combine cabling and decreasing. This combination allows the heart shapes to form.

Techniques used
cable cast on, knit, purl, moss (single seed) st, single decreases, yarn overs, working from charts, cables, cables incorporating decreases, Elizabeth Zimmerman sewn cast off.

Suggested Yarn
Drops Cotton Merino (50% Wool/50% Cotton) - 7 balls of 50g,
each 50g ball is 110m/120yds;
Total required 770m/840yds or equivalent if wanting to knit a similar sized blanket.
When choosing yarn ensure that you opt for a soft textured, plied smooth yarn with good stitch definition for pleasing results

Gauge
Drops Cotton Merino - ball band gauge is 21sts & 28 rows on 4mm needles.
Blocked 10cm² stocking stitch swatch on 4mm needles = 22sts x 32 rows
Thinner yarn and smaller needles or thicker yarn and larger needles might be used but the measurements of the blanket will differ accordingly

Measurements -
Finished measurements - 75cm x 95cm.
These dimensions may differ depending upon the elasticity of the yarn used and how it performs when blocked.
