Nordic Mittens
Featuring the same Nordic stitch pattern as A, working it up in many colors transforms it into a Fair Isle look. The characteristic pattern on the back of the hand represents rams’ horns.

Tools and Materials:
Yarn: Puppy British Fine (25g skein). Sample uses: 20g beige (color no. 021), 5g each of light brown (040), blue (062), red-purple (004), blue-purple (027), brown (037), and purple (053), and 3g each of green (055) and light blue (064) and small amounts of yellow (028) and pink (068)

Needles: US 1 (2.25mm) double-pointed knitting needles (set of 4) or 32” (80 cm) circular needles for magic loop technique.

Other tools: waste yarn or stitch holder, tapestry needle

Gauge over 4”/10cm square:
36 sts and 36 rounds in stranded colourwork pattern
36 sts and 39 rounds in striped ripple pattern

Finished measurements:
Palm circumference 7.5” (19cm), length 10.5” (26.5cm)
