Baba's Shawl
This simple textured asymmetrical shawl takes one skein of fingering weight yarn. The 4 row pattern repeat is easy to memorize and makes a great little shawl for the warm Spring and Summer weather. The stitch pattern for this shawl came about when I read and interpreted a stitch pattern incorrectly whilst trying to figure it out in the asymmetrical triangle shape. I loved the simplicity of the stitch pattern so much I decided to keep the pattern, as well as rewrite the pattern correctly (you can find it as the Liliya Shawl). The simple, repeat and texture of the stitch reminds me of traditional Ukrainian embroidery. I have many of my Great Baba’s (Ukrainian great-grandmother’s) cross-stitch and embroidery pieces in my house.
This pattern has been test knit.
