When designing the Babbling Brook Wrap I knew I wanted something interesting enough to keep going through all 24 colours but simple enough to be able to learn to read your knitting which means you don’t have to stare at the pattern for every stitch. I feel that I have managed it with this pattern as it provides textured lace but there is a mini break between each colour with a couple of rows of garter stitch.

This pattern is great for those 10g advents in 4ply but also the 20g DK advents too and will show of the colours very well.

As the pattern can be worked in either DK or 4ply yarn, below is noted both gauge needed, depended on the yarn weight you wish to use.

4ply / Sock Yarn
Needles - 3.5mm with a 40-60 cm cable
Gauge - Worked flat in stocking stitch. 4 x 4 Inch Square blocked is 28 Stitches and 40 Rows.
Finished Wrap size - Width: 13 inches (33cm)
Length: 62 inches (157cm)

DK Yarn
Needles - 4mm with a 40-60 cm cable
Gauge - Worked flat in stocking stitch. 4 x 4 Inch Square blocked is 20 Stitches and 32 Rows.
Finished Wrap size - Width: 19 inches (48cm)
Length: 78 inches (198cm)
