Babe's Poncho
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
A tender poncho for a tiny babe. I designed this poncho to be a warm cover up for Swimmy as a little baby (read: as he is now), but it should fit him into early toddlerhood. I compared it to a poncho I wore as a toddler and it’s just a wee bit smaller.
I think the Babe’s Poncho is a soft boyish style; cables can feel a bit hard-edged for babies in my opinion, so I opted for a more subtle texture by using cables without framing them in reverse stockinette stitch. The seed stitch border on the bottom edge also helps to suggest a baby boy feel, but adding a fringed edge would be an easy way to girlify it.
