When a friend asked me to knit her ‘something’ to remember her 1st holiday with her new baby this was the result. I think it captured the magic and she was certainly really happy with the end result too.

Babies 1st Holiday isn’t too difficult to knit. You’d only need basic stitch knowledge i.e. knit, purl, stocking stitch, garter, cast off etc.

I’ve used a normal iCord for the bucket and spade handles. Instructions are included within the pattern.

He is knitted flat using 3mm needles and DK yarn. I’ve also used a simple back stitch on his nappy. The Latvian Twist Edge around his nappy and hat is a very easy edge to achieve. Full instructions and colour photos are included within this pattern.

There is also a small amount of Chunky Yarn used within this pattern approx’ 5g
