These squares are great stash busters. ~
These fun, fast and easy squares have a wonderful squishy texture.
Written in US terms.
• Yarn used: Caron Blossom Cakes in Tropical Blooms.
• Hook size: J.
• (Please note, any weight and blend of yarn can be used, along with a suitably sized hook. Square
size will of course be determined by yarn weight/hook size/ tension.)
• When using Caron Blossom Cakes and a size J hook, squares measure approx. 6” × 6”.
• Using worsted weight yarn and a size J hook, each square uses approx. 28 yards of yarn.
• Stitch count of squares = 17 stitches per side.
NOTES ON CONSTRUCTION OF SAMPLE BLANKET.
For my SAMPLE I joined 20 blocks (4 x 5) with a tight join using SC. I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease in Blush to join my squares that were made using Caron Blossom Cakes in Tropical Blooms. A size J hook was used for both the squares and the joining.
I then went around the blanket with 4 rounds of Moss/Linen Stitch, making SC, chain 2, SC in each Corner for every round.
I finished it off with my ~~ Rick Rack Border ~~ Working on the foundation of Moss/Linen Stitch. Its SS, DC, SS worked in chain 1 space. Skip next stitch. SS in next chain 1 space. SS in next stitch. SS, DC, SS in next chain 1 space. Continue all around, making 2 SS, DC, 2 SS in EACH CORNER. SS = Slip Stitch.
STITCHES USED:
CH, SC. SS = Slip Stitch.
“Mini Bean” STITCH: Described in pattern.
