Here’s my beanie pattern that I use when gifting a baby blanket. Excellent project for using up scraps of yarn. Also, very easy to take a few small balls on the go with you.

I’ve provided the best words I can to describe the various stitches. Start with a magic ring or slip knot and use half double crochets. Then the bead stitch and finish with a crab stitch. Lots of youtube videos are available if these stitches are new to you.
