The pattern is written in US crochet terms but with a conversion at the beginning of the pattern to UK / Australian terms. Its just that some of the names of the stitches are different.

Materials & tools you will need:
★ Acrylic or other yarn approx. 300gr or 10.58 oz - DK, Double Knitting in UK, Light Worsted in the USA, 8ply in Australia.
★ Crochet hooks size recommended 4 mm, 4.5 mm, 5 mm and 6 mm.
★ 4 pearl beads (optional).
★ Yarn needle to weave in ends (optional).
