Baby Bonnet
Pattern description from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts: “This baby bonnet is so beautiful and special that it’s hard to believe how simple it is to make. The body of the bonnet is knitted in the shape of an upside down T, or a horizontal rectangle with a square of fabric removed from each of the upper right and left corners. The edges of the inside angles are brought together and seamed. The contrasting I-cord border also functions as ties for the bonnet. The yarn is Rowan’s Kid Classic, a soft blend of wool and kid mohair. The slightly heathered, warm color scheme lends an Early American look to this piece.”
Finished Measurements: To fit head circumference up to 17.5” (44.5 cm), about 6-24 months. With bonnet lying flat, 6.5” (16.5 cm) high from lower edge to top of crown, and 6.5 “ (16.5 cm) deep from front I-cord trim to back fold.
Yarn: Rowan Kid Classic (70% lambswool, 26% kid mohair, 4% nylon; 151 yards [140 meters] / 50 grams): #817 bear (brown) and #842 peach sorbet (pink), 1 skein each.
