This is such a fun, fast and easy pattern for crocheters of any skill level. It results in a warm, cozy photo prop that can also be used for a baby’s first Halloween costume! The bumblebee cocoon swaddles your baby and puts them right to sleep for that perfect, angelic shot.

This is my own sweet little one in these pictures. She weighed 11 lbs. at birth (no c-section! I know!--crazy!) and she weighed about 13 lbs. when I took these pictures, so even bigger babies fit well. Newborns could be tucked further into the cocoon so that just their hands are peeking out (see the pics of my caterpillar pattern for that effect). The baby could also be placed on his or her tummy with the tulle wings perched on their back.

I include instructions for making your own tulle wings (super simple!) as well as the pattern for both the bumblebee hat and body.
