The instructions in this pattern make a blanket 32” square. You can easily adjust the width and length my adding more or fewer rows and stitches.

To make the blanket longer simply work more repeats of the cable pattern before finishing with your border. You can also consider making the top and bottom borders longer as you increase the length of the blanket.

To make the blanket wider you will need to cast on more stitches in multiples of 12, e.g. cast on an extra 12, 24, 36, etc. stitches. You may also consider adding more stitches to make the side borders wider.
