This cosy baby blanket is made in Tunisian Crochet or Afghan stitch, using a baby double knitting or light worsted weight yarn. It can be worked with a regular straight crochet hook as there are only a few stitches on the hook at one time. It is worked one square at a time in entrelac style, with no need to break off the yarn. Therefore, not many loose ends to sew in! The stitches used are Tunisian simple stitch, simple stitch purled, Tunisian knit stitch, double crochet (US single crochet) and chain. A brief description of the stitches are given in the Abbreviations.

The pattern is easy to adapt to make a larger sized blanket.

Try it with chunky or aran weight yarn and a bigger hook too.
