In addition to a comforting familiar friend, HugKnits Baby can double as a puppet–the head is hollow–a great distraction tool for a fussy or bored baby.

These directions are for the HugKnit Baby.The blanket portion is knit flat in garter stitch for great tactile stimulation, head is knit in the round. Uses worsted weight yarn (make sure it is washable); spring green -200 yds, flesh -90 yds, scraps of eye and lip color, contrasting waste yarn -2 yds. Pattern requires knowledge of Kitchener Stitch and Duplicate Stitch. Also features optional crochet lace trim. Cheeks are tinted with non-toxic beeswax crayon.
