Baby Frog Shoes
I have been thinking for a while of making a frog baby shoe, using a version of my cable frog motif. This pattern uses doubleknit wool (8ply) and you will only need approx 20g. It only comes in one size 0-3 months.
The pattern contains instructions to make the shoes in two ways. You can make them using just one shade of wool. If you want more of a challenge, then you can knit the frog in a different colour, which will make him stand out more.
They are quite a quick knit because of the size, and I would suggest that anyone making them has a go at the one-coloured version first. On the two colour version you also have to be careful to carry your main shade across the back. Not difficult if you are used to intarsia knitting, but it gets a bit complicated when you are also thinking about the cables for the frog.
The beads for the eyes are not sewn on, but threaded on to the wool at the very beginning. I thought this would make them more securely attached to the shoe, so there was not risk of baby pulling them off.
I hope you enjoy making these frog baby shoes.
