This little garter stitch jacket with back pleat is knitted from the bottom to underarm, in one piece, sleeves knitted separately then joined to yoke. It is an easy knit, suitable for the experienced beginner knitter. The pattern also comes with a hat that has a simple cable pattern on front and back. The hat is one for the intermediate knitter, is knitted in one piece, then stitches are picked around the hat to form the band. Schematic and chart for Cable is also included.

Sizes 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-18 months.

MATERIALS REQUIRED -- LIGHT #3, Double Knit, Light worsted, 105 m /114 yds per 50 gram ball.
Sizes 0-3 months -- 3 x 50 gram balls, 3-6 months -- 4 x 50 gram balls, 6-12 months -- 5 x 50 gram balls, 12-18 months -- 6 x 50 gram balls.
Hat – Sizes 6 – 12 months, and 1 -2 years add 1 extra 50 gram ball of yarn. Size 2 – 4 years add an extra 2 x 50 gram balls.
One pair 4mm (US 6 : UK 8) extra long straight needles or circulars
Stitch holder
Size 3.75mm (US 5 : UK 9) circular needles for Hat
One set double pointed 4mm (US 6 : UK 8) for Hat

TENSION / GAUGE
Jacket - 20 sts x 38 rows = 10cm (4 in) worked in garter stitch on 4 mm (US 6 : UK 8) needles.
Hat – 32 sts x 30 rows = 10cm (4 in) worked in Cable pattern on 4 mm (US 6 : UK 8) needles.
