Here is the latest knitting pattern from my madmonkeybabyknits range. Its the Baby Garter Stitch Silk Slouchy Top knitting pattern. I chose Debbie Bliss Pure Silk which makes it really light and soft to wear. I have been buying my silk for just a few pounds on Ebay but any dk yarn with a similar tension can be used.
The pattern covers sizes S,M & L so can be made for any baby from birth to one year old.The design is very simple yet intended to make getting the top on and off as easy as possible by having a crossover neck.
The Garter Stitch Silk Slouchy Top is modelled here by Chesney Chimpanzee who is approximately the size of a one year old baby but I can’t believe that your baby’s head is any bigger than Chesney’s and he has no trouble whatsoever putting it on. I also don’t think your baby can possibly be as fat as Chesney, he’s definitely been eating too many bananas!
Chesney has enjoyed modelling this top so much he is refusing to take it off so you could also make this top for your Chesney Chimpanzee.
