Hi, I’m Victoria from The Crafty Octopus. Thank you for making this baby gift! A baby sweater was my very first crochet project in clothing. I thought, if I don’t like making clothes, then that’s okay ‘cause this is a small project. There is only one size available: 0-3 months. I made a pattern for the hat and the sweater. The socks are a pattern I recommend. I did not make the pattern for the socks! I hope you enjoy making it as I enjoyed writing it!

This pattern is based on the basic baby sweater pattern. This is a gift set that includes a baby sweater, baby hat and recommendations for a sock pattern that I used. This is an ideal gift for couple or single parent expecting a baby. Make sure to consult the measurements in the picture below!

Materials:
•baby friendly (cotton) yarn
•Stitch markers
•Scissors
•Yarn needle
•4 mm hook

I used 2 colors and two brands of yarn. Both yarns are baby friendly because they are non-pilling and breathable. The green yarn consists for 60% of cotton and 40% of acrylic. One green skein has 140m and 50g. Pima Cotton bronze has 212m and 100g and I used two skeins.

•Pima Cotton – color bronze (2 skeins)
•Annell Miami – color 8963 dark green (1 skein)

To check if you have the right gauge, crochet the following swatch for both yarns: 21 DC stitches and 12 DC rows. You should have a square that is 10 cm x 10 cm.
