Baby gingham Hat
I saw a picture of a gingham baby hat online about a year ago on a blog by a lady that went by the name Melilab, and I knew that it would make the perfect gift for my daughters soccer coach’s wife, who was expecting her 4th child!
I sat up that night and tried to figure out the gingham pattern. Eventually I got it, wrote it down, and it has since been my go to pattern for baby presents.
This is a great pattern if you are a newbie to fair isle knitting. The basic gingham pattern is very simple to follow.
It can also be altered to make a larger hat (just add your CO stitches in multiples of 10), use larger needles, and add more rows of the gingham pattern.
Once again, thank you Melilab for your beautiful hat. This is just my interpretation of your Shabby Chic Baby Hat.
