Baby Groot is an adorable little guy. Put him on your desk and it is guaranteed he makes you smile. He is about 8 inches (20 cm) tall and you can change his poses. Difficulty of the pattern is advanced beginner to intermediate.

Skills you will need: chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet stitch, half double crochet stitch, increasing, regular decreasing, invisible decreasing, crocheting in rounds, crocheting through back loops or front loops only.

Materials and tools

• brown fingering weight yarn. (Comment from a crocheter: with fingering weight yarn the Groot may turn out quite tiny. To get a bigger Groot, use Sport weight yarn);
• few meters / yards of green fingering weigth yarn for the leaves;
• black embroidery floss;
• 10 mm safety eyes;
• polyester fiberfill or other stuffing material;
• 2.25 mm crochet hook (US steel crochet hook size 2);
• copper wire;
• pincers for cutting and bending the wire;
• a few pins, yarn needle, scissors;
• flower pot (diameter 6 cm / 2.4 inches on the top).
