The pattern does not include a chart, all is written. You will only need one skein of the specified yarn. The hat is very stretchy and suitable for wide heads, and it can easily be pulled over your ears and forehead on those really cold days.

The pattern looks a little as if it has Christmas trees on it, so you could emphasise the pattern by using coloured yarn if you wish.
