You’ll love the squishy warmth of garter stitch for baby sweaters. This cozy little jacket is knit in one piece from the top down, without seams. It’s simple to knit, but it has just the right details: long sleeves, buttoned front, comfy raglan yoke, a warm collar, and contrasting pocket linings. The only sewing you need to do is to stitch the optional pockets in place.

Skills needed
Knit/purl, picking up and knitting, working in the round, basic sewing

Construction notes
This sweater is worked from the top down in one piece, beginning with the collar. The raglan yoke is shaped from the neck down, and the sleeves and body are worked separately from the underarms. The pockets are marked while working the body and then picked up and knit in the finishing.
