As a massive fan of the Firefly universe I’ve been wanting to make a Jayne beanie for years. As something extra cute I’ve worked on a baby version with a ball instead of a pom to be a little safer for baby chewing or pulling on it.

Required

• yellow yarn 8ply, I’m using Four Seasons Marvel
• orange yarn 8 ply, I’m using Four Seasons Marvel
• dark orange yarn 8 play, I’m using Scheepjes ColourCraft
• 4.5mm crochet hook
• Yarn needle for hiding ends
• Scissors
• Tiny amount of polyfill or scrap yarn for stuffing the ball/pom

Sizing

This pattern includes notes for adjusting from New Born/Premmie up to Baby, then Toddler. Babies grow through things very quickly and also vary in size a surprising amount. All photos in this document are for New Born size.

Roughly:

• New born – for the first weeks
• Baby – up to 6 months
• Toddler – up to 18 months
