About the pattern

’Marshmallow’ is a baby jumpsuit with cute knot-stitch embellishment on the yoke and buttons along the front to make it easy to put on.

The jumpsuit has a very simple construction: it is knit top-down (mainly flat) with ‘knit-as-you-go’ button bands. You can choose to work the legs and sleeves either flat, or in the round - based on your personal preference, I provide detailed instructions for both.

It is an ‘adventurous beginner’ level pattern - I provide very detailed instructions for all ‘non-trivial’ (though really not that difficult) techniques. The pattern has some photo-tutorials to help you understand the techniques, and also my video-tutorials - they are in Russian, but you can easily follow my movements without the voiceover.

I first designed it for my daughter, but I believe it is a unisex pattern - just depends on your color choice! The instructions are written for 2-color version (1 color for the yoke, and a different one for the rest of the body), but of course you can easily work it in just 1 color!

Sizes
The pattern includes 4 sizes: 0-3 (3-6, 6-9, 9-12) months – also see schematic in pattern photos for detailed measurements.

Yarn
The pattern is calculated for worsted-weight (~175m/200yds per 100g/3.5 oz) in 2 colors:
• Color A (CA; in the sample white) – 50-100g
• Color B (CB; in the sample pink) – 150 (200, 250, 300)g

The sample was knit in Alize baby wool (175m per 50g, 40% wool, 40% acrylic, 20% bamboo) held double. Testers have successfully substituted it for fingering held double/ worsted weight yarns with very different content, ranging from pure wool to pure cotton - depending on the season you are aiming for.

Needles
You will need needles in 2 sizes:
80cm/ 32” or longer circulars (+ DPN’s if you prefer them to magic loop for the legs) in sizes 4.5mm/ US 7 (or size to get stockinette gauge) and 3 mm / US 2.5 for the ribbing.

Notions: crochet hook, waste yarn, stitch markers, row counter (optional), tapestry needle, 5 (6, 6, 7) buttons.
