FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
12½ (14½, 16¼)“ / 32 (37, 41.5) cm brim circumference and 6½ (7½, 8¾)” / 16.5 (19, 22) cm tall, measured from back neck
YARN:
willet / windlass 708 / 1 skein
NEEDLES:
set dpns in size US 4 / 3.5 mm or 32” or longer circular in size US 4 / 3.5 mm
GAUGE:
25 sts and 32 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in stockinette stitch, after blocking
NOTES:
Hat is knitted from the bottom up, beginning flat with a garter stitch trim, shaped with short rows. Stitches cast on for front brim are added, then hat is continued in the round to top of crown.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Long-tail cast on, short rows (links provided); increasing, decreasing, working in the round.
