Baby Maple is the second doll in my Baby Forest Friends Collection. He is a little aviator maple seed doll, complete with an aviator cap, goggles, and a little maple pod whirly-gig on top! Using the recommended yarns and hook sizes he comes out to be about 6 inches tall.

The main body, head, limbs, and hat are all worked in spiral rounds. I have provided several photo tutorials for specialty stitches and techniques as well as video links to help you with each step of making this amigurumi.
The whirly-pod and goggles are made in separate pieces and then sewn together during assembly.
The hat is made in continuous spiral rounds followed by short rows.
A forward loop chain (flch) method is used to create the goggle straps. However, if you’re not comfortable with this method a regular chain will work perfectly well! I enjoy using the flch because it creates a square shaped ch similar to an i-cord. This makes it more structured and a little easier to sew in to neatly.
