Baby Owl
This cute little baby owl with its soft tuft of hair is a fun, quick and easy felting project.
Baby Owl is knitted, made up and stuffed before felting in an ordinary washing machine.
Every Baby owl is slightly different after felting, and choosing the buttons to create each character is half the fun!
Quick and easy to make for new knitters, this Baby Owl is knitted flat using stocking stitch and basic increases and decreases.
This 5 page pattern includes fully illustrated instructions for knitting, sewing up, stuffing, felting and adding the features to your Baby owl.
Templates are included for making the beak and feet from felt fabric.
Yarn:-
Rico Creative Filz print, Lana Grossa Feltro Spectra and Schoeller Und Stahl Filzi all produce lovely variegated effects, plain colours look great too!
One 50g/50m ball of felting or Filz wool is all that is needed for this project- making it an ideal introduction to the technique of knit and felt.
Alternative yarns must be 100% wool and hand wash only to ensure they will felt when washed.
You will also need toy stuffing, buttons and scraps of brown felt fabric to finish this project.
If this toy is to be given to a child, for safety reasons it is best not to use buttons for the eyes.
You can cut circles of felt, embroider or needle felt as alternatives to make the eyes
