This little cardigan will be the right size for a baby of about 12 months. I decided to write a pattern for an older baby as there are so many patterns available for newborns, but not so many for this size baby and newborn sizes fit for such a short length of time. However, this pattern could be made for a slightly younger baby by making it with a smaller sized hook.

The yoke of the cardigan has little dots/bumps on it, which is why I call it a Pretty Dotty cardigan.

The cardigan could be made with any dk yarn. I haven’t tried it with cotton yarn but see no reason why that would not work.

The pattern includes both UK and US terms. The UK terms come first and then the whole pattern is repeated with US terms, so please be aware if you print off the pattern that you should only print the pages you want so as not to waste your paper and ink.
