Baby Skelly Backpack
Thank you so much for checking out my Baby Skelly backpack! This intermediate-level pattern is written in US terms. A video tutorial is linked in the pattern for the bag portion as I use a new technique for this one. I highly recommend using the specified types of yarn to ensure you end up with a backpack-sized plush—mine measures about 14 in. tall and 9 inches wide, not including the arms.
The pattern includes instructions for “made to fit” crocheted straps, but feel free to explore alternative options. I mention a couple in the pattern, but I do not provide full tutorials as there are so many possibilities.
Supplies Required (the pattern includes links to special items):
Yarn
-3 colors of Bernat Blanket Yarn (1 skein each)- coal & white, any color desired for straps
-Black worsted weight acrylic for the eyes & embroidered stitching
-3.75 & 6.5 mm hook
-7x9 inch cotton canvas drawstring bag for the liner (or sew your own)
-blunt-tipped needle for sewing
-scissors
-poly-fil
-other helpful items: stitch markers, sewing pins (highly recommend to pin pieces in place before sewing), and something to poke holes through the liner (you can carefully cut small holes with scissors).
optional alternative strap options:
-1 inch nylon straps, 2- 1 inch rectangular buckles, needle & thread to sew & attach.
-or pre-assembled adjustable backpack strap from Ali Express
