This sweater is sideways knit on top and vertically knit on bottom. Cables run up the sleeves, across the chest and back, and down the lower body portion. It is constructed by beginning at one sleeve cuff, working up the arm and across the body, then by picking up stitches and knitting downward. It is virtually seamless (two small underarm seams).
