Welcome to my Baby Steps Mandala pattern. As the name suggests this is a pattern designed especially for beginners. Made using all the basic stitches it is a good way to learn and create something pretty as you go.

Mandalas have so many uses. They can stand alone as a covering for any surface, attach them to a hoop and create a wall hanging, sew them together to create a pretty blanket or use them with other crafts such as sewing and add some texture to feature on your clothing. Their uses are endless and only limited to your imagination.

They also look great in one colour or multicolour, with beads, tassels or other embellishments. They make great gifts for your family and friends. Truly a beautiful piece to learn to create. Let’s take our first Baby Steps and get started.

Skill Level: Beginner

Finished Size: Approximately 26cm unblocked

Tools Required:
3.5mm Crochet Hook (depending on your yarn ply choice)
Scissors, Yarn Needle, ST Markers

Yarn Requirements:
I prefer to use Cotton so that it holds its shape and is easy to launder. Anything from a 5ply to an 8 ply is good. You could even go thicker and use a 10ply, especially if you are making yours a lot bigger. For this pattern I used Fiddlestick Wren 8ply cotton 50gm/125m

The pattern is written using US terms and UK Terms.
There are plenty of photos to help with the instructions and to clarify each section.
