This adorable pattern can be knit in plain colours, or stripes. Adjust the length of the ‘tail’ to be a simple top knot, or a long elf Santa hat. Add a pom pom or a braid.

The pattern instructions are given for a hat for a newborn photography prop, through to a three year old toddler.

Yarn is any Aran/ Worsted/ 10 Ply yarn. This can be acrylic or alpaca, smooth or fluffy!
Knitting needles : 5mm / US size 8
The hat is knit flat, with a seam sewn afterwards. This makes it easier for a less experienced knitter.
