BABY TURTLE WINGS
Circular Baby Blanket/Shawl
This pattern uses charts.
This Banket/Shawl is worked in the round from the center out. Increases are made every 4 rounds at 8 set points across the round. All yarn overs are worked twisted on the following round in order to reduce the size of the holes.
Yarn: Patons Beehive Baby Sport (color #9007 (Vintage Lace) - 100 g = 328 m/359 yds) OR other sport weight yarn
Yardage: 1200 m/1300 yds
Needles: 3.5 mm (4 US) double-pointed needles (DPNs) and circular needles (2 or 3 different lengths up to at least 100 cm (40 inches) - 120 cm (47 inches) recommended). If you wish to work magic loop then only one long-cord circular needle will be required. If using pinhole (Emily Ocker’s) cast-on you will also need a crochet hook that is same size as (or close to) knitting needles.
Gauge: for reference 24 sts = 4 inches (10 cm) in stocking stitch on 3.5 mm needle. Exact gauge is not too crucial but note that a different gauge can affect the quantity of yarn required and the finished size of the shawl. Adjust needle size if necessary/desired.
Size: suggested diameter after blocking is 40 inches (102 cm).
Skills/Techniques Used
pinhole cast-on (if desired - instructions included)

knit; purl; knit 2 together (k2tog); slip, slip, knit 2 together (ssk); yarn over (yo); knit twisted (e.g. knit through back loop); make one (M1); binding off knitwise and purlwise
Note that all increases and decreases are paired (i.e. symmetrical). To achieve this the yarn overs, the knit twisteds and the make ones are all directional (left/right) - complete instructions are included in pattern.
