In my version of the Valdes pattern I was inspired by the meaning of the pattern. It har 2 J shaped forms that is turned upside down and the end of the J meets up to shape a heart. The J is here the symbol of Yggdrasil in Norse mythology, which is the Tree of Life. As a symbol, Yggdrasil represents the cosmos, the relationship between time and destiny, harmony, the cycles of creation, and the essence of nature.

The mittens are knitted without a thumb and is easy to put on. The mittens can be handwashed.

Size: 3-12 months. If you use tinner tread and smaller needles you will get a size 0-3 months.

Yarn: 3PLY
Alpaca from Sandnes – 100% alpaca (2 colors) OR
Sisu from Sandnes 80% wool, 20% nylon, super wash (2 Colors)

50 Grams of yarn makes about 3 pair of mittens (175 meters)

Knitting needles: Double pointed needles size 2,5mm/US 1,5 and 3,0 mm/US 2,5

Kitting Gauge : 27 masker = 10 cm.

Measurements: Full length: 13
From end of cuff to tip: 8cm
Width: 7cm

I would say that this patten fits a somewhat experienced knitter as well as the advanced knitter. It is a easy knitting pattern and a great way to cut down on your yarn stash.

Vottene er uten tommel og lett å ta på med en vrangbord som strekker seg. Vottene kan håndvaskes.
