Baby Varsity Sweater
The sweater itself is seamless, worked top-down. The 2 pockets are knit from stitches picked up from the bottom front then knit flat and the sides of the pockets are then sewn onto the sweater. The contrasting stripes on the left sleeve are knit as you work the sleeve, but the letter is done in duplicate stitch after the sweater is complete. An alphabet chart is included with the pattern. You may, of course, work the letter as you would color-work, just remember to hold the alphabet chart upside down as you work because the sweater is worked top-down. The front band is knit on by picking up stitches along the fronts and neck, then working in garter stitch.
The contrasting color yarn for the sleeve stripes and letter take approx. less than 15 yds.
