Afghans are hands-down my favorite gift to give someone. My cousin is pregnant with her first child right now and I wanted to make her a special blanket, large enough for baby and mama. I waited to begin until she finalized the colors of the nursery. She chose yellow, white, gray and teal. You could easily make this any combinations of colors, 2, 3, 4, or even make it a scrap yarn project. I would love to make one for my bed in a solid color next.
