Baby Wyrm - Wearable Emotional Support Dragon
This sweet little emotional support dragon enjoys staying close by being worn around your arm or neck, or draped nearby to keep you company! They also make a great Renaissance or Fantasy Faire accessory.
This is an intermediate level no-sew pattern or you can simplify it by sewing the pieces together instead. Written in US terms. It is a 22 page pattern with lots of pictures to help you along the way!
Supplies Needed:
-54yds Bulky velvet yarn in “main” color for body. Small amounts of bulky yarn in one or more “accent” colors. Bernat Velvet recommended for body. I prefer non-velvet for the accent pieces so they’re not super floppy. I used Loops & Threads Charisma.
-4.5mm hook (or preferred hook size - I recommend erring on the side of a smaller hook for the velvet yarn)
-16mm-20mm safety eyes or preferred size. Sinker eyes are great for this project but because the backs are larger, anything bigger than 16mm may distort the shape of the head. I only used larger eyes with non-sinkers.
-Anodized Aluminum 2.5mm Bonsai Training Wire. If you don’t want your wyrm to be wearable then the bonsai wire isn’t necessary. Here are a couple places to purchase on Amazon:
